I have chronic pain on the inside of my right knee. When I jack up my desk chair to reach the keyboard and mouse, my feet aren't flat on the floor. And I'm at my desk all day, like most people. I finally figured the dangling legs might be a factor in my pain. I've definitely noticed an improvement in my knee since using this foot rest.

As for the swivel feature, I don't know why you'd want a stable foot rest. Being able to rock your feet keeps the circulation in your legs going. You can also put your feet on different parts of the platform--such as by stretching out your legs--and the platform adjusts to support your feet properly. The swivel is also great for fidgeters.
