Its a solid product. I was drawn to it because it didn't seem to be
something that was cheap and have some plastic piece break on me. The
designer should have put notches to keep the height in place. It just
uses friction. As is, if I put weight on the footrest the height goes to
the minimum setting. Not that I put a ton of weight on it because I
think the wheel would break but that would probably require a person
shift a lot of weight on the footrest. With my usage, I don't worry
about that. My biggest gripe is being limited to the width of the
footrest because triangular sides will poke into your rest if you rest
your foot there. So its annoying when I want to be ergo suboptimal.
Overall, if I could have found a simple steel footrest, the really ugly
ones shaped like a doorstop, I would have bought it. Since I couldn't
find one, I bought this and would get it over anything other than a
simple steel footrest.
